About the Artist
Anna Johnson received her BFA in ceramics from Viterbo University in 2012. In the years that followed, she continued working in clay while exploring workshops and teaching community classes. After relocating to the Twin Cities in 2016, she began more intentionally defining her craft and aesthetic, deepening her commitment to a focused studio practice.
Over time, her work has moved from studies of the natural world toward more layered figurative compositions. Drawing, print, and surface design play a central role in her process, with screen-printed imagery becoming a defining element of her practice.
Raised in a single-parent household with two siblings, Johnson developed an early awareness of closeness, negotiation, and resilience — experiences that continue to shape how she approaches form, space, and relationship within her work.
